For readers

What is Websarb?

A general-interest publication covering careers, technology, business, money, health, travel, science, culture, education and lifestyle. We publish a small number of articles rather than a large number, and an editor reads every one before it goes live.

Who writes the articles?

A mix of invited contributors and writers who submitted through Write for us. Every article carries a byline and links to an author page. If someone is writing from personal or professional experience, we ask them to say so in the piece.

Is Websarb free to read?

Yes, and there is no paywall. We intend to fund the publication through advertising and, later, optional reader subscriptions. Articles will not be locked behind either.

Do you use AI to write articles?

No. We do not publish AI-generated articles as human work, and submitting one is grounds for us not working with a writer again. We do use an automated screen to triage incoming submissions for spam and quality before an editor reads them, but that tool assesses writing, it does not produce it.

How do I report a mistake?

Use the contact form, choose “a correction to an article”, and include the link plus the specific claim you are disputing. We correct the text and add a dated note at the foot of the article saying what changed. We do not quietly edit errors away or delete articles to hide them.

Do you have a newsletter?

Yes. It is double opt-in, meaning you get an email with a confirmation link and nothing happens unless you click it. Every email has an unsubscribe link, we do not sell or share the list, and your address is stored on our own server rather than passed to a third-party newsletter service.

What is the bookmark icon for?

It saves an article to a reading list you can find at Saved. That list lives in your own browser and never reaches us, so there is no account to create — but it also will not follow you to another device, and clearing your browser data clears it.

Can I republish a Websarb article?

Not in full. You are welcome to quote from articles with attribution and a link. Writers keep the copyright in their own work, so for anything more than a quotation you would need permission from the author as well as us.

Who owns Websarb?

Arbsbuy LLC, which also runs a digital marketing agency called Arb Digital. We state that plainly on the about page and mark the one link we carry to it as sponsored. The agency has no say in what we publish.

For writers

How do I pitch an article?

Read the editorial guidelines, then submit the finished piece through the form on Write for us. We take completed drafts rather than pitches, because it is much easier to judge the writing than a description of it.

Do you pay contributors?

Not currently, and submitting does not create an expectation of payment. If that changes it will be agreed in writing before publication rather than assumed.

How long until I hear back?

Submissions are screened automatically, then join a queue that a person reads. We aim to respond within a couple of weeks. If we publish, you will hear from us; if we pass, you will still hear from us.

Do I keep the copyright in my article?

Yes. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to publish and promote it, which means you may republish your own work elsewhere afterwards. We ask that you wait a reasonable period and link back to the version here, but that is a request rather than a condition. The details are in our terms.

Can I include a link to my own site?

One, where it is genuinely relevant, without a sales pitch. We allow at most two outbound links per article in total and they all carry nofollow, so there is no SEO benefit in trying for more. Articles written around a link are rejected.

How many tags can I add?

Up to ten, each no longer than thirty-five characters. This is enforced automatically on save. Tags help readers find related work; they are not a place for keywords.

Why was my article rejected?

Usually because it did not say anything the first page of search results already says. That is the single most common reason. Others: it was published elsewhere first, it read as promotion for a product or service, or the claims were not checkable. A rejection is not a judgement on you as a writer, and you are welcome to submit something else.

Will you edit my article?

We may edit for clarity, length, structure and house style. We will not change what you are arguing. If an edit would alter your meaning, we ask you first.

Can I have my published article taken down?

Ask us and we will normally remove it within a reasonable time. We may keep a record that it existed, and we cannot remove it from third-party caches and archives we do not control.
