We publish a small number of outside contributors. Here is what we look for, and what we turn down.
Websarb publishes a small number of articles from outside writers. We are not an open guest-posting site, and we are not a place to park a backlink. Every submission is read by an editor before anything goes live.
What we look for
- Something only you could write. First-hand experience, a job you actually did, numbers you actually saw. Not a summary of the first page of Google.
- A clear argument. One idea, argued properly, beats ten tips.
- Plain language. Write the way you would explain it to a competent colleague.
- 600 words minimum. There is no maximum. Length should follow the idea.
What we turn down
- Anything written to place a link. We allow at most two outbound links per article and we mark them nofollow, so there is no SEO value in trying.
- Content produced by an AI and submitted as your own work.
- Anything published elsewhere, including on your own blog.
- Press releases, thinly disguised adverts, and listicles assembled from other listicles.
How it works
You submit through the form below. Your article is screened automatically for obvious problems, then goes into a queue that a human reads. The first two articles from any new writer are always reviewed by a person, whatever the automated screen says.
If we publish you, you get a byline and an author page. If we do not, you will hear back and you are welcome to pitch again. We publish a small share of what we receive, so a rejection is not a verdict on your writing.
